God’s Pursuit of Man

In Exodus 19, God invited Israel into relationship—but they trembled in fear. Instead of finding freedom in his love, they became subject to the demands of the law. Through the Scriptures, we see the tragic results of trying to live under the law—culminating in Hezekiah, who shows both the heights and the futility of life under the law. In Christ, we are set free from the law. Through his Spirit, we are able to approach the Father with a full heart and without fear. Even so, we must consider where we are submitting to the law instead of living in the fullness of the Father’s love.
