The Council of God

Through Christ’s work and the filling of the Spirit, God invites us into his council—not just to be in his presence, but to sit in the decision room. Because of the fall of sinful humanity in the beginning of Genesis, we have lost our place in the council of God. This fall has fractured our sense of what it means to live as embodied, divine image-bearers. The modern era, with its powerful forces of independence, technology, and trauma, only add to our existential ache. But through the Spirit, we are “raised with Christ” and seated again in the heavenly places—where God restores anew our call as council members in the throne room of heaven.
